Paul Brady
News from Mickey…
Hi Folks,
Mickey Joe here… just to say hello and thanks for all your support with the most recent release of “Bring it On! Bring it On!” by The SUBZTITUTES (AKA Paul Brady and yours truly).
“Bring it On! Bring it On!” is something that came out of nothing really. Just a little conversation and a few lines in an email… and the rest is history. It’s available on iTunes to download.
And well done to Trap, Shay, and the rest of the Irish squad for giving us something to believe in again!
Following on from that, I’m pleased to announce tour dates/venues for USA Summer Tour starting at the end of this month. We start in Boston, as we promised. Some of you will remember we were forced to cancel the February gig there due to airport closure in Chicago, because of a storm that never did arrive. Which made it all the worse!!! Anyhow, with the help of the good Lord we will be there on the 27th of this month… all tour dates below.
I will be gigging in and around Ireland after I get back from The States for the rest of the summer. More IMPORTANTLY, we’ll release the NEW ALBUM SEPT 14TH “Forward to Reality”, here in Ireland with an extensive tour of the country to support the release. Coincidently that’s also my birthday…. jeez where did those 29 years go???!
And coming soon… your chance to pre-order the album on the website: www.mickeyhartemusic.com . Check back shortly!

Derry Journal for “Bring it On! Bring it On!”

Songwriters Paul Brady and Mickey Harte took to the streets of Dublin on Sunday as part of a flash mob that took over Grafton Street briefly around lunchtime. Starting near Molly Malone, the pair began busking, only to start walking, and be slowly joined by over 60 dancers, singers and even a gospel choir, before stopping outside Bewley’s to chant the final chorus of their new song, “Bring It On, Bring It On”. The new song is a tribute to the Irish football team and their efforts in Poland in the weeks to come.

Leading songwriters Paul Brady and Mickey Harte have teamed up with a special anthem for the Irish football squad ahead of the European Championships 2012.
Brady and Harte not only have their music talents in common, they both also have strong Strabane and Donegal links – and Lifford in particular, from where the Republic’s goalkeeper Shay Given hails.

Mickey Harte and Paul Brady, aka The Subztitutes, are releasing a cracking song in support of The Irish National Team.

ON Friday, May 25, yet another fantastic song in support of the Irish National Team’s trip to the European Championships will be released by two fantastic songwriters from right here in the North West.
Lifford’s Mickey Joe Harte and Strabane native Paul Brady teamed up and penned the inspiring song Bring It On, Bring It On under the alias The Subztitutes.
Mickey said: “The collaboration came about after a conversation I had with Paul about the dreaded hand ball incident with Thierry Henry at world cup qualifiers.
“We were disappointed, to say the least, and to rub salt in the wounds my good friend and fellow Liffordian, Shay Given was between the posts.”
Being loyal ‘local’ boys from the two neighbouring parish, Mickey and Paul felt they needed to put it all on record, literally, and show their support for The Boys In Green.
“I sent Paul a little snippet of an idea that I had following that chat and he liked it and then we got together at Paul’s home and banged out the rest, as they say,” said Mickey.
As a ‘sideline’ project, the songwriters gave themselves the very fitting alias The Subztitutes, although they’d consider themselves as ‘super subs’.
Mickey said: “I must say it’s not the first time I’ve been a substitute. I’ve played on the Highland Radio Soccer team, but John Breslin just doesn’t appreciate my ball skills,” he laughed.
This isn’t the first time Mickey has collaborated with such a high-profile songwriter as Paul Brady, a man he admires very much.
“I’ve written some songs with other people and it’s always nice when they get used or they like them enough to record them. I wrote a song called All The Love with Jack Tempchin from Los Angeles, who wrote some of The Eagles’ biggest hits.
“It was nice when he put the song we did together on one of his albums. It has also been recorded by the other co-writer Rob Burke. It’s a great song and hopefully it will make its way onto other album in future,” said Mickey.
New Song from Mickey! ‘Bring it On! Bring it On!’
Bring It On! Bring It On! is a brand new song in celebration of the Irish team’s achievement in reaching the European finals in June. Written and recorded by fellow Ulstermen and football fans, Paul Brady and Mickey Joe Harte, collectively known in this instance as ‘The Subztitutes’.
Bring it On! Bring it On! is at once a driving, passionate anthem praising the team’s success in rising above the disappointment following Thierry Henri’s infamous handball in the recent World Cup qualifiers, a warning to opponents that they have a major fight on their hands and a rallying call to fans everywhere to ‘roar out from the stadiums’ in support of their team.
“We play with heart and we stand our ground and there ain’t nobody gonna push us around!”
Bring It On! Bring It On! is available for download from iTunes from May 25th. Soon to be heard on radio stations and social media sites wherever Irish fans may be in the world!
